1969 Type 1132 - Beetle - Käfer Automatic Stick Shift Savannah Beige This is an excellent candidate for an off-pan restoration   Rust-free, straight, stock, original and well-cared-for New Mexico car Save time, money and aggravation … Avoid patchwork … Do it your way and have ALL German metal    BODY: Well-cared-for over the life of the vehicle. Maintained in original stock condition. Only minor surface rust. The body is straight and true. The pan is solid, with the minor exception of repaired damage under the battery. The heater channels are in excellent condition. A previous restoration was done on this car. The repaint is fair, but only because the body prep was far from perfect. There are 2 dents – one on the trunk lid, the other on the driver’s side roof pillar. Good glass and window gaskets all around. The original dash and plastic defroster outlets are UV damaged. The seats and headliner have been redone with Taiwanese replacements for OEM, which are very inferior to the German OEM, and that are definitely worth avoiding. The doors open and shut solidly. The trunk has a gap on the passenger side, which a competent body shop can adjust via the latch. The safety harnesses function properly. The vehicle is currently a daily driver. The seats and the other interior parts are in storage.  MECHANICAL: Competently maintained in original stock condition. Steers and stops straight. New brakes. Excellent KYB shocks. Achieves highway-speed without vibration, wandering or vague handling. All electrical items are working, however the dome light operates intermittently, probably due to paint or debris in the door switches. Signals and lights are all working. The Auto Stick is fully operational, and I have a spare solenoid and vacuum actuator for the clutch.  The engine is now 1600 cm³. It is balanced and has silicon-bronze valve guides. It is reliable and has a pleasing exhaust note running on mid-grade unleaded fuel.   Please contact me regarding transportation prior to bidding   The vehicle has a clear New Mexico Title.
